360 Caos formed in Mexico City in the late 1990s, with singer-songwriter Manuel Mejía at the front. Their music had a raw quality that connected with listeners, though their lyrics sometimes drew criticism for being too direct about social issues. In 2001, they faced accusations of promoting drug use and violence through their songs, which led to some venues refusing to book them.
They kept working despite the pushback. In 2003, they released an album called "Momentos," and the title track became their most recognizable song. It's a slower, more reflective piece compared to some of their earlier material, with lyrics about memory and time passing. Another song people remember is "Namora Eu."
The band has put out seven studio albums, starting with "El Asalto" in 1998 and going through to "La Ultima Canción" in 2016. Mejía has been the consistent presence through various lineup changes, with Rafael López on drums, Ricardo Sánchez on bass, and Francisco Morales playing lead guitar in their current configuration.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
