3D-Hip Hop was a Brazilian trio active in the late 1990s and 2000s, with members Marcelo D2, Berna, and Sampa Crew. Their debut album came out in 1999, followed by an MTV acoustic session in 2002 and their most commercially successful record, 'Vô Num Ré,' in 2005. That album included the track 'Primeira Vista,' which became one of their better-known songs.
Their music mixed rap with funk and rock elements, and they sometimes faced censorship for lyrics that touched on social or political issues. They had a brief hiatus in the early 2000s due to label disputes. Marcelo D2's substance abuse struggles also became public around that time.
Beyond 'Primeira Vista,' their catalog includes songs like 'Tudo Nosso,' 'Comesoul,' and 'Humildimente Falando.' They released another album, 'Universo dos Planetas,' in 2011 before becoming less active.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
