3LAU

3LAU is the stage name of Justin Blau, a self-taught pianist who started making electronic music around 2011. His debut EP, 'Close Your Eyes,' came out that year and got some attention as the EDM scene was picking up. He kept putting out tracks like 'Star Crossed' and 'Alive Again' with vocalist Emma Hewitt, which fit into that melodic, festival-ready sound a lot of producers were working with at the time.

Around then, there was some talk about a plagiarism accusation from 2013, but the details are a bit murky and it didn't stop him from putting out music. He also started a foundation in 2017 focused on music education for kids, which is a side project he's kept up.

Later on, he had a hit with 'How You Love Me,' a collaboration with Bright Lights that did well on dance charts. Other songs like 'On My Mind' and 'Would You Understand' with Carly Paige followed a similar pattern of pairing his production with guest singers. He's put out a few more EPs since, but there's no big dramatic arc to it, just a producer who found a lane in electronic music and kept at it.
