A Brazilian band whose 2006 hit "O Amor Que a Gente Fez" defined their sound and early success.
For their early sound, "O Amor Que a Gente Fez" is the obvious place. "Caminhos de sol" and "Gostoso Demais" show what came after.
They caught on fairly quickly in Brazil by mixing axé, samba, and pop into something that worked on radio. "O Amor Que a Gente Fez" became a major hit in 2006 and still anchors their catalog. Later songs like "Pão de Mel" and "Foi Você" kept them going through lineup changes and public troubles.
They formed in Salvador, Bahia in 2000 with Guilherme Mestieri on vocals. After Mestieri left in 2010, Gabriel Gava took over, and guitarist Chimbinha was expelled in 2015 following his arrest. The current lineup includes Gava, original bassist Daniel, and newer members Zú and Marcelo.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
