4 Alpha formed in 2004 in Rio de Janeiro with vocalist Thaís Macedo, guitarist Leandro Costa, bassist Leonardo Rabal, and drummer João Marcos. Their early work included the 2005 self-titled album, and they found wider recognition with songs like "sem você" and "Ponto Final."
In 2008, the band faced plagiarism accusations regarding "sem você," which they denied. The matter was resolved without further public drama. Their lineup changed over time, with Emerson Negrão and Guilherme Pacheco eventually joining on bass and drums.
They released albums like "Por Causa de Você" in 2007 and "Tão Perto" in 2010. Their music draws from pop, rock, and Brazilian influences, with Macedo's vocals remaining a constant through the years.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
