4 Cabeça formed in São Paulo in the early 1990s. Their debut album, 'Cabeça de Homem,' came out in 1995 and found an audience in the underground scene. The band's sound pulled from rock and punk, with an experimental edge that didn't fit neatly into the mainstream at the time.
Their second album, 'Nação Zumbi,' arrived in 1998 and brought them wider attention. The track 'TV Cultura' from that record became particularly well-known for its satirical take on mass media. Other songs like 'Carcaça' and 'Lembrei' also appear among their most recognized work.
The group's lyrics often dealt directly with social and political themes, which sometimes sparked strong reactions. Their live shows were known for being energetic and confrontational. The lineup has stayed fairly steady with Robézio Oliveira on vocals and guitar, Ismael Caneppele on guitar and vocals, Luisão Pereira on bass, and Paulo Rafael Costa on drums.
They've put out several albums since, including 'Ataque dos Zumbis' in 2002, 'Panorama' in 2005, and 'Zumbis do Espaço' in 2019. Their music maintained that blend of rock energy and lyrical provocation.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
