4ª Estrofe formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s, with Bruno Cesar, Gabe Batera, and DJ PH pulling from hip-hop, samba, funk, and rock. Their 2007 single 'Rolê na Madrugada' caught on as a kind of late-night anthem, and they built a following playing clubs and festivals around the city.
Their lyrics often touch on social issues like inequality and violence, which has drawn both criticism and respect. The group has kept at it, releasing albums like '4ª Estrofe' in 2009, '30 Anos de Rap' in 2013, and 'Nós Por Nós' in 2017, along with songs such as 'Linha do Tempo' and 'Eu Escolhi'.
They marked their tenth anniversary with '10 Anos de Rolê' in 2022. The three original members are still the core, and their sound remains rooted in that São Paulo mix of rhythms and straightforward talk.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
