4 Real James was an R&B group from Atlanta that formed in the early 2000s. The lineup included James Mitchell on vocals, Anthony Jackson on drums, Rodney Terry on bass, and Mark Curry on guitar. They signed with Def Jam Recordings in 2002 and released their self-titled debut album that same year.
They followed up with three more studio albums: "Relentless" in 2004, "For Real" in 2006, and "Legacy" in 2014.
In 2005, the group was involved in a legal dispute with their former manager that led to a hiatus from recording and performing. The members have spoken about dealing with personal issues during their career, though they continued working together through those periods.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
