40 Below Summer formed in 2001 with Max Collins on vocals, Chris Paterson on guitar, Kyle Hamood on bass, and Omar Walle on drums. Their debut album 'Invitation to the Dance' came out in 2004 and included the single 'Rain,' which got airplay across North America and topped the Canadian rock charts.
They followed up with albums like 'The Rain Album' in 2006, 'The Last Dance' in 2008, and 'Fireworks' in 2010. Their sound shifted from pop-punk beginnings toward alternative rock and acoustic ballads, with songs like 'Training Day' and 'Rope' showing that range.
After a hiatus around 2012, they played shows again starting in 2016 before their final performance in 2019. Their music, including tracks like 'Tell Me Now' and 'Wither Away,' still finds listeners who connect with its melodies and lyrics.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
