40 Glocc is the stage name of Lafayette Jones, a rapper from South Central Los Angeles. He's known for diss tracks aimed at other artists, most notably his 2008 song "1 Blood (Game Diss)" that targeted The Game. That track and others like "The Last 48 (The Game Diss)" fueled a public feud that played out in the mid-2000s.
His music often deals with street life themes, delivered in a raw style that found an audience in the late 2000s. He released several albums including My Life Is a Movie in 2008, New World Agenda in 2009, and Exodus in 2010. Other songs in his catalog include "Borrow You," which features Akon, and "Where Them Hammers At."
Beyond the music, 40 Glocc faced legal issues including assault charges in 2012. The group around him included rappers like Lowkey Logic and Hitta Fresh, with production from Blacc Haze. He kept releasing music through the 2010s with albums like Killuminati 2 in 2013 and The Return of the Real in 2015.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
