44meia started in Salvador, Bahia around 2000, taking their name from the apartment number where they rehearsed. Their first album came out that same year, and the song 'No Céu do Seu Quarto' became a hit. The original lineup included Nando Reis on vocals and guitar, Pedro Mariano on bass, Rafael Ramos on drums, and Marcelo Camelo on keyboards.
Nando Reis left in 2002 to work on his own music, and Leonardo Busatto joined to play guitar. The band kept putting out records after that, including 'Lavagem' in 2003, 'Além do Que Se Vê' in 2005, and 'Melancolia' in 2007. They also released 'Deserto' in 2010, 'Invisível' in 2015, and 'O Futuro' in 2019.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
