47 Corp formed in Barcelona in 1988, a Spanish metal band that worked through the competitive local scene. Their third album, 'El Velorio De Un Coleto,' came out in 1999 and gave them a breakthrough. The title track became an anthem, though the album's lyrics drew some criticism for being offensive to the Catholic Church, which brought them more attention.
They kept releasing music after that, putting out six studio albums in total, including 'De Profundis' in 2002 and 'El Despertar' in 2005. The lineup changed over time, but early members included vocalist Daniel Vega, guitarists Mario Rey and Juan Labrador, bassist Ferran Garcia, and drummer Juan Jodar.
Their sound mixed heavy metal with atmospheric melodies, and they developed a cult following. They didn't become mainstream stars, but their records found an audience that responded to the band's particular blend of aggression and mood.
