47ter formed in Paris in the early 2000s around Pierre-Luc Jamain and Paul Seul. The band's name came from the apartment they shared on Rue de Cotê Ouest. They released their first album, 'The Lightest,' in 2003, followed by 'Cotê Ouest' in 2006. The title track from that second album became one of their notable songs.
Their music often combined electronic elements with more traditional instrumentation, sometimes including cello or trumpet. Over time, other musicians like Camille Allard joined the group. They worked with artists including Jacques Higelin and Jean-Louis Aubert.
47ter put out several more albums after 2006, including 'L'Eau' in 2009 and 'L'Alphabet' in 2012. Another song people know is 'On Avait Dit.' They kept recording through the 2010s, with 'L'Avalanche' arriving in 2019.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
