Archive material and source history
4drive formed in Porto, Portugal in 2004, originally with Ricardo Gonçalves on vocals, Rui Silva on bass, Sérgio Rosado on guitar, and João Afonso on drums.
After drummer João Afonso left in 2011, Tiago Silva joined. The band faced some criticism over lyrics in tracks like "Dá-me o teu Quero" and "Apenas Esqueça," with Gonçalves saying the music reflected modern society. They kept releasing albums, including "Tranquilidade" in 2012, "Festa no Inferno" in 2016, and "VII" in 2019.
Guitarist Sérgio Rosado departed in 2016 and was replaced by João Sérgio Couto. Keyboardist Ricardo Mendes came on in 2018. Their songs span pop, rock, and electronic styles, with later tracks like "Para Você" and "Real Simplificado" showing their range.
