4Eyes formed in 2002 with Mikey Geoff on vocals and guitar, Joel Kubler on bass and vocals, Josh Shields on drums, and Ethan Hollingsworth on keyboards and guitar. They came together around a shared interest in making music that felt substantial to them.
In 2005, their single "Not a Sad Song" connected with listeners and became a breakout track for the band. They released their debut album "All the Things" in 2007, which included the song "Animal." They put out more records after that, like "The End is Near" in 2009 and "Light the Fuse" in 2012.
During their time together, the members dealt with personal difficulties. Geoff struggled with depression and substance abuse, and Kubler went through the loss of a family member. These experiences became part of what the band worked through while making music.
