4noses formed in 1999 with Bruno Gouveia on vocals and guitar, Mário Manga on bass, and Kuki Stolarski on drums. The Brazilian band worked with producer Rick Bonadio, who helped shape their sound. They released five studio albums between 2000 and 2010, starting with their self-titled debut and including Manual, 12+, Agora, and a live version of Agora.
Their music mixed pop, rock, funk, and electronica in a way that didn't fit neatly into one category. The lyrics tended toward the introspective, dealing with love and relationships. The song "Aquele Dia" became one of their most popular tracks, featuring Gouveia's vocals over a haunting melody.
The band faced criticism for their style and lyrics, and there were accusations of plagiarism that they denied. They disbanded in 2010 after about a decade of activity.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
