4play formed in 1996 as a Brazilian vocal quartet with Carla Casagrande, Guto Graça Mello, Léo Régis, and Maya. They released their self-titled debut album the following year. The group's song 'Por Você' became one of their notable tracks.
In 2004, Maya left the group and was replaced by Vanessa Jackson. The group continued releasing albums through the 2000s, including 'Luz do Sol' in 1999, 'Sorriso' in 2002, and 'Alma de Samba' in 2007.
Their music centered around vocal harmonies and arrangements, with Guto Graça Mello handling much of the vocal arrangement work. The group maintained a presence in Brazilian music through their recordings and performances.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
