4teen formed in São Paulo in the early 2010s with Igor Jansen, Caio Paiva, and Pedro Calais. They found their first real audience in 2015 with the single "A Razão," a ballad that connected with listeners and gave the band a foothold in Brazilian pop. Luan Otten joined on bass in 2018, replacing the original member.
Their songs, like "Só Você" and "Basta Aceitar," tend to work in straightforward pop arrangements with some R&B and soul touches. The writing is direct, often about relationships and small emotional moments, without much studio fuss.
They've kept releasing music since, including "Foi Mal, Não Te Amo" and "Por Um Ponto do Fim," staying in that same lane of clean, melodic pop. The band hasn't chased major stylistic shifts or crossover attempts, which has given their catalog a consistent, familiar feel for their listeners.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
