5ª Emenda formed in São Paulo in 1999, with an early lineup that included João Gordo and Fred 04. Their sound mixed punk, rap, and samba, and they released their debut album in 2003. That record featured the song "A Volta Por Cima," which became widely known for its chorus about not letting fear win.
Over time, other members joined the group, like Marcelo Yuka, DJ Kl Jay, Guizado, and B Negão. They put out several more albums, including "Acorda" in 2005, "Brasil 200" in 2007, and "Até o Fim" in 2012. Their work often touched on social themes.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
