5 Jotas was a Mexican band with Mario "Mayito" Gutiérrez on vocals and guitar, Fernando "Fer" González on bass, Arturo "Arturito" Padilla on drums, Manuel "Manny" Sánchez on guitar, and René "Reneto" Ortiz playing saxophone and keyboards. They released albums like Camino al Cielo in 1999 and México Lindo y Querido in 2001.
Their 2003 album Mi Promesa Es Caminar included the title track, which became one of their most recognized songs. They followed with Corazón Vagabundo in 2005 and a tribute to José Alfredo Jiménez in 2007.
The band was known for energetic live shows.
