5 Lines formed in Lisbon around 2008, with founding members Pedro Tatanka, Rodrigo Costa Félix, and Luís Filipe Saraiva. Catarina Salinas and Nuno Silva joined later to complete the group. They've put out albums like "5 Lines" in 2011, "Três" in 2014, and "Água" in 2018.
Their song "Acordar" became particularly well-known, alongside tracks like "Dia Após Dia" and "Farofeiro (Hoje vai dar praia!)".
The band has sometimes drawn attention for reasons beyond the music. In 2010, there were accusations of plagiarism concerning a song called "Solitary Road". A few years later, in 2017, one of their concerts was canceled, reportedly over concerns tied to the group's political activism. They also run a music school in Lisbon.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
