5 Minutos de Fama formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 2000s with Thiago Castanho on vocals, Thiago Aquino on guitar, Leandro Dias on bass, and André Medeiros on drums. They released their first EP in 2010, followed by albums like Rock Bangu in 2012 and Tempos Modernos in 2014.
Their song Uma Tarde, Um RPG came out in 2011 and became a notable track for them. In 2013, the band had a legal dispute with the Brazilian Football Confederation over the unauthorized use of that song in a commercial, which brought some attention to questions about artistic rights.
They kept putting out records through the 2010s, including Irmãos in 2016 and Música de Rua in 2018. Their lyrics often touched on social themes, and another song people know is Monopólio.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
