Archive material and source history
5 Plus Band formed in Skopje in 1997 with five members: Blagica Pavlovska on lead vocals, Draganov Trajkovski on bass, Slobodan Sokolovski on keyboards, Aleksandar Minovski on drums, and Saso Petrovski on guitar. Their debut album 'Nakazana Duša' came out in 1999 and included the song 'Bez moje dragane,' which became a regional hit.
That song, along with others like 'Hej jarani' and 'Plava haljina,' helped define their sound, which mixed Balkan rhythms with pop. They kept releasing albums through the 2000s, including 'Za Ljubavta' in 2004 and 'Luda Žena' in 2007.
In 2004, there was some criticism about one of their songs possibly borrowing from a traditional Serbian tune, but it didn't seem to slow them down much. They put out more records like 'Veruj Mi' in 2010 and 'Ljubav Ne More' in 2013.
