The 504 Boyz came out of New Orleans in the late 90s, mixing bounce music with hip-hop and R&B. Their track 'Beefing' got attention, and they put out albums like Ghetto D in 1999 and Goodfellas in 2000.
Originally the group had Master P, Silkk the Shocker, C-Murder, and Krazy. Later they added Fiend, Mia X, and Soulja Slim. They kept recording through the early 2000s with Ballers and Loyalty & Love.
Some of their music drew criticism for violent themes, especially around 'Beefing.' C-Murder faced legal trouble that included a murder conviction in 2003. The group's sound, with songs like 'Check 'em' and 'Enemies,' stayed in rotation in clubs and playlists for a while.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
