Archive material and source history
5050 formed in London in the late 1990s with Alex Cross on lead guitar, Jack Phoenix on vocals and rhythm guitar, Tom Jensen on bass, and Luke Davis on drums. Their debut album 'Urban Warfare' came out in 2002, featuring the single 'Jungle-P' which reached the top of the UK charts.
In 2006, Luke Davis left the band and was replaced by drummer Ethan Young. They released three more albums after their debut: 'City Lights' in 2005, 'The Human Condition' in 2008, and 'Echoes of Yesterday' in 2012.
Their songs sometimes touched on social themes, which drew both criticism and support. Beyond 'Jungle-P,' another track in their catalog is 'Amor Malandro,' which features Big Los.
