58 Lovers were an Italian group formed in 1963 by Mario Tessuto and Sandro Giacobbe, with Marcello Di Martino on guitar, Bruno Corti on bass, and Roberto Testa on drums. They're remembered for their 1964 cover of Domenico Modugno's song "Volare," which became an international hit.
After Tessuto left in 1966 to go solo, the band's momentum slowed. Their version of "Volare" also drew some criticism from those who felt Modugno's original work wasn't properly credited, which led to legal disputes.
They released a few more singles like "Qualcosa di Te" and "Tu Vuò Fà L'Americano," but never matched the success of that first big hit.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
