6 Dogs came together in Springfield, Ohio around 1999, with Ryan Young on vocals, John Blake on guitar, Ryan Dewey on bass, and Chris Keil on drums. They put out an early EP called 'The Doghouse' and played local shows, building a following in the underground scene. Their sound had a raw, emotional quality that connected with people, and songs like 'Faygo Dreams' and 'flossing' became early standouts.
In 2003, they released their album 'Faygo Dreams,' which included the title track and other songs like 'Buttcheeks' and 'Off The Gas (feat. Lil Skies).' This record got them more attention, with some airplay on MTV and radio. The band's momentum was interrupted when guitarist John Blake left in 2005, and they went on hiatus the following year.
After a few years apart, 6 Dogs returned in 2010. They released albums like 'The Way We Die' in 2011 and 'Cause for Celebration' in 2014, continuing to write and perform, though less frequently than before. Their music, from the early EP to later work, maintained that direct, introspective feel that first drew listeners in.
