608D formed in São Paulo in 2018, with brothers Pedro and Rodrigo Magalhães, Gabriel Castro, and Vinícius Leite making up the group. Their song '1000 Anos' became a breakout hit in Brazil, pulling together pop, rock, and electronic touches into something that caught on widely. They followed it with tracks like 'O Livro' and 'Não sou Igual'.
Their first album, 'Cabeça de Véio,' leaned into that pop-rock blend, while the later 'Ópera de Rua' took a turn toward more experimental and electronic ground. The band faced some early noise about plagiarism accusations, which they pushed back against, but that didn't slow the momentum much.
They kept putting out music that felt both accessible and a little restless, never quite settling into one lane. You can hear it in how a straightforward pop tune sits next to something with more electronic texture. It's just four guys from São Paulo working out what their sound could be, record by record.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
