67FACE formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1990s, taking their name from a prison wing where frontman Fabio Cidra's father had been held. Their debut album 'Barulho' came out in 2004, and it included the song 'Sempre Tive Um Sonho' that became something of an anthem in Brazil.
They put out several more albums over the next decade, including 'Abraçação' in 2007, 'Oxente' in 2010, and 'Solar' in 2015. The band collaborated with artists like Djavan, Gilberto Gil, and Arnaldo Antunes along the way.
Cidra's lyrics sometimes addressed social issues, which led to some friction with authorities and occasional concert cancellations. The original lineup featured Cidra on vocals with Humberto Tavares on drums, Robson Barreto on guitar, Pedro Aznar on bass, and Paulo Costa on percussion, though there were changes over time.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
