6L6 formed in São Paulo in 1984 with Tony Bellotto on vocals, Ricardo Peres on guitar, Paulo Ricardo on bass, Marcelo Bonfá on drums, and Andre Jung on keyboards. Their self-titled debut album came out the following year, and songs like 'Eu Me Lembro' and 'Vem pra mim' became hits that stuck around.
They kept putting out records through the late 80s, including 'Grandeza' in 1986 and 'Frequência FM' in 1987. The lineup shifted a bit over those years, with Jung leaving in 1988 and Peres departing in 1990. The band called it quits in 1992.
Their sound had a straightforward rock feel, and their lyrics often touched on personal and social themes. Beyond 'Eu Me Lembro', tracks like 'Só Você' and 'Baby, Eu Tô Na Tua' showed their knack for melodic, guitar-driven songs that connected with listeners.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
