7 Céus formed in 2003 in Salvador, Bahia, as a seven-piece band. They released their debut album in 2004, mixing pop with samba and axé rhythms. Their 2015 album "Melhor de mim" went multi-platinum in Brazil.
The group's original lineup included vocalist Léo Santana, percussionist Wesley Safadão, bassist Danniel Vieira, guitarist Romário Costa, keyboardist Felipe Pezzoni, saxophonist Thiago Carvalho, and drummer Biel Maciel. Santana left in 2014 to pursue solo work, but the band continued with new members.
In 2019, 7 Céus faced plagiarism accusations, which they denied. They defended themselves through legal channels and public statements, maintaining their position as working musicians.
