7 Estrelo formed in São Paulo in 1999, starting as a trio with Henrique Portugal on vocals and guitar, Mariana Rodrigues on vocals and bass, and Rafael Miranda on drums. They later expanded to include Thiago Terra on guitar, Daniel Escobar on keyboards, and Leticia Almeida on backing vocals.
Their debut album "Estrela Guia" came out in 2002, followed by "No Limiar do Céu" in 2004 and "Horizonte Infinito" in 2007. The song "Beyond the Clouds" appeared in 2010.
In 2015, the band was involved in a legal dispute over the unauthorized commercial use of their song "Além das Nuvens."
