7 e F formed in Belo Horizonte in the late 1990s, bringing together seven musicians with backgrounds in rock and reggae. The group includes vocalist and guitarist Samuel Rosa, bassist Chico Amaral, keyboardist Armandinho Macêdo, drummer Alexandre Reis, percussionist Flávio Venturini, and guitarists Luís Maurício and André Silva. Their 1998 song '4 x 4' became a major hit in Brazil, appearing alongside tracks like 'Amante Em Série' and 'Labirintite Por Você' in their catalog.
Their music mixes rock and reggae with Brazilian rhythms, often built around Rosa's vocals and the band's guitar work. They've released a dozen studio albums since their 1998 debut, including 'Cafeína' in 2000, 'Quatro' in 2003, and more recent records like 'Histórias Reais' in 2017 and 'Respira' in 2022.
In 2003, the band lost percussionist Flávio Venturini. They've continued recording and performing since then, with their lineup otherwise remaining stable through the years.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
