7 Selos MC's came out of São Paulo's neighborhoods in the early 1990s, started by Anderson Santos and Ronaldo Rodrigues. They used hip-hop to talk about what was happening around them, with lyrics that got into poverty and police issues. Their song 'Em Busca Da Paz' became something people knew them for.
That track, along with albums like '7 Selos' and 'A Volta dos Que Não Foram,' gave them a place in Brazilian rap. The group included DJ Will, Xará, and D'Flow alongside the founders. They kept at it without softening what they had to say, even when it caused some friction.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
