7 Year Bitch formed in Seattle in 1990 with Selene Vigil on vocals, Elizabeth Davis on guitar, Valerie Agnew on bass, and Patty Schemel on drums. They put out three albums in the 1990s: 'Sick 'Em' in 1992, '¡Viva Zapata!' in 1994, and 'Moto' in 1996. The band broke up in 1997.
Their songs like 'Kiss My Ass Goodbye' and 'Dead Men Don't Rape' had a blunt, confrontational edge that felt specific to their moment in the Seattle scene. The music was loud and direct, built around Vigil's shouted vocals and a straightforward punk attack.
After the band ended, Schemel did session work for other groups. Vigil started a solo career and ran the Sister Vagrant label. Agnew and Davis kept working in music on other projects.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
