A short-lived band whose 2009 album 'Something More' became their calling card.
If you're going to listen to one thing, make it the 'Something More' album. The title track and 'I Am One Of Them' give you the full picture.
For a band that only put out three albums, 78violet managed to carve out a distinct space in the mid-2000s alternative rock scene. The title track from 'Something More' became their most recognizable song, while deeper cuts like 'I Am One Of Them' and 'Potential Breakup Song' showed they could work different angles within that sound. Their music still surfaces in conversations about that particular era of indie-leaning rock.
They released their self-titled debut in 2003, followed by 'The Art of Losing' in 2006. Their final album, 2009's 'Something More', gave them their biggest commercial moment before the band dissolved in 2013.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
