7SADOQUE formed in Rio de Janeiro with Bruno Veronesi on lead vocals and guitar, Marcelo Loureiro on bass, Márcio Menescal on drums, Alexandre Fontanetti on keyboards and vocals, and Fernanda Porto on vocals and percussion. Their first album, A Cor do Sol, came out in 1998.
That debut album's title track, A Cor do Sol, became their breakthrough hit. The band's sound mixed samba with rock and soul elements, which drew some skepticism early on but eventually found an audience. They followed up with self-titled and other albums like Homem Não Chora in 2006 and Zero in 2010.
The band defended the song as a metaphorical take on child exploitation. They've performed internationally and shared stages with artists like Gilberto Gil.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
