7Segundos formed in Porto Alegre, Brazil in the mid-1990s, with Boka Loka on vocals and guitar. Their 1996 album 'Promessas' gave them their breakthrough, anchored by the title track that became a staple. The band's lineup included Veco Marques on bass, Marcelão Curi on drums, and Fábio Russo on lead guitar.
They followed up with albums like 'Enquanto É Tempo' and 'Estação da Luz', maintaining a presence in Brazilian alternative rock. Songs like 'Linda Bela' and 'Se Quiser' show their range from melodic rock to more straightforward arrangements.
The group faced some internal difficulties and lineup shifts over time, and in 2003 their manager was killed in an incident that hit the band hard. They kept recording and playing shows despite these challenges, with tracks like 'Sua Falta' and 'Sintonia 002 - Nosso Baile' appearing in their later work.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
