They started playing in underground clubs, where their performances sometimes ran into censorship issues. The band's original lineup included Manuel "Meme" Suares on vocals and guitar, Marcelo Moura on bass and vocals, Germán Daffunchio on drums and vocals, and Daniel Melingo on guitar and vocals.
Their 1988 debut album "8 Grados Sobre Cero" contained the song "Mar Azul," which became their most recognizable track. They followed it with albums like "Transpiraciones" in 1990, "Paramétrica" in 1992, and "Iguana" in 1994. Other songs in their catalog include "Seu Beijo" and "Um Dia."
In the early 1990s, the band split into two groups over artistic differences. Suares and Moura kept the 8 Graus name, while Daffunchio formed Las Pelotas. 8 Graus stopped recording and performing in 2003.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
