8 Milímetros formed in the late 1990s in Santos, Brazil, with Ivan Sader on vocals and guitar, Alexandre "Magrão" Pereira on bass, and Rodrigo "Cachorro" Meireles on drums. Their debut album in 1998 included "Pensando em Você," a ballad that connected with listeners and helped establish them nationally.
After early success, the band faced difficulties. In 2000, Sader was arrested for drug possession, and both Magrão and Cachorro left the group. Sader continued with new members, releasing the album "Mais Uma Vez" in 2001. They put out several more records through the 2000s, including "Quero Ver o Mundo Arder" in 2005 and "Até Que a Morte Nos Separe" in 2007.
Their catalog includes songs like "APTV," "Briga de Galo," and "Ilha Grande." The lineup changed over time, with Felipe "Feijão" Cordeiro and Marco "Marcão" Vasconcelos among those who played bass and drums in later years.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
