Max Pezzali and Mauro Repetto named their band after the 883 kilometers between their hometowns.
For a sense of their early sound, 'Come Mai' still holds up. 'Almeno Una Volta' gives you that straightforward pop-rock feel they became known for.
Their 1992 debut 'Hanno ucciso l'Uomo Ragno' included 'Come Mai,' which became a radio staple across Italy. Songs like 'Almeno Una Volta' captured a straightforward pop-rock sound that connected with listeners, often touching on everyday themes of relationships and growing up. They put out several albums through the 1990s, including 'Nord Sud Ovest Est' and 'La Donna, Il Sogno & Il Grande Incumbo.'
883 formed in 1991 when Pezzali and Repetto started playing together. Repetto left in 1994, and Pezzali eventually moved on to solo work in 2003. After a long break, they played together again in 2013 and formally revived 883 a few years later, releasing the album 'Encore' in 2019.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
