90 Miles formed in San Francisco in 2004 with Jared Blake on vocals and guitar, Joel Lauer on guitar, Kevin Schlichter on bass, and Dave Koster on drums. They put out their first album, 'The One,' in 2006. Their second album, 'Home,' came out in 2010, and the title track became their most recognizable song.
Around 2013, the band dealt with a legal dispute over their music rights, which led to a break. They came back in 2015 with a third album called 'Awakening,' and followed it with 'The Distance' in 2018. Their sound has generally been described as indie-pop with touches of acoustic rock and alt-country.
At one point, there were some plagiarism accusations regarding the song 'Home,' but the band denied them. They've kept a fairly steady lineup since starting, and their catalog includes those four studio albums from 2006 through 2018.
