95octanos came out of Monterrey, Mexico with a mix of rock, rap, and hip-hop. Their debut single "Corto Tiempo" got attention in 2005, and they followed it with albums like Ruge in 2007 and Vive in 2010. The band included vocalist Afrodita, guitarist Danny, bassist Psycho, and drummer Manny.
Their music had a raw, aggressive feel on early records, though later work like Revolución in 2013 and Renacer in 2016 brought in more melody. Songs such as "Maruja" and "Verano 99" show that shift. Their lyrics and stage presence sometimes drew criticism, but they kept playing with the same intensity.
They put out music for over a decade, from that first single through the 2016 album. The sound changed some, but the energy didn't really let up.
