98 Degrees formed in Cincinnati in 1996 with Jeff Timmons, Justin Jeffre, Drew Lachey, and Nick Lachey. Their self-titled debut album came out the next year, featuring the single 'Because Of You.' They were part of the late-90s boy band wave, known for vocal harmonies and straightforward love songs like 'I Do (Cherish You)' and 'The Hardest Thing.'
They put out a few more albums, including '98° and Rising' in 1998 and 'Revelation' in 1999. The group also had a television series called '98 Degrees' around that time. In 2002, they released an album called '2.0' that leaned more toward R&B.
After their greatest hits compilation in 2000, activity slowed. They haven't released new music in a while, but songs like 'This Gift' and 'Invisible Man' still turn up on playlists from that era.
