99°Graus formed in São Paulo in the mid-1990s with four members: Rodolfo, André, Jean, and Paulo. Their name references human body temperature. They had a breakout single called "Música" in 1999 that became an instant hit in Brazil.
Their 2005 album "100% 99°Graus" included the song "Beijo Na Boca," which became one of their most recognizable tracks. Other popular songs from their catalog include "Cai fora" and "Te Provo Que Me Lembro." In the early 2000s, lead singer Rodolfo left the group, and André took over as vocalist.
The band continued releasing albums through the 2000s and into the 2010s, including "Mapa do Meu Mundo" in 2007 and "Geração 99 Graus" in 2013. Their music blended pop with Brazilian rhythms and found an audience through radio play and live performances.
