Archive material and source history
9months formed in Los Angeles in the late 1990s. Their debut single "All the Small Things" came out in 1998 and found a wide audience, becoming the song most people know them by. The band included Mark McGrath on vocals, Adam Schlesinger on guitar, James Iha on guitar, Chris Collingwood on bass, and Dan Vickrey on drums.
They released a self-titled album in 1998 and followed it with "Starlight" in 2000. Other songs from their catalog include "Califonia Boys," "Pain Killer," and "Road To The Hell." The group didn't stay together for very long, and members went on to other work after they stopped recording as 9months.
Adam Schlesinger died in 2020. Mark McGrath later worked as a television host. The band's music, particularly "All the Small Things," still gets played and remembered by people who listened to pop-punk from that era.
