A. Ara Y Lara was a vocal trio that formed in Los Angeles during the 1950s. They are best known for their 1960 rendition of "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from Disney's Cinderella, which became widely popular. The group consisted of Aniceto "A" Molina, Eddie "Ara" Benson, and Robert "Lara" López.
Their sound blended classical, Latin, and pop elements. Beyond their Disney hit, they recorded songs like "A Que Te Gusta El Sol," "Algo Nuevo Cambio," and "Alza La Mano." They released several albums in the early 1960s, including a self-titled record in 1961 and "It's Magic" in 1962.
In the late 1960s, the trio faced allegations of plagiarism concerning their song "Strawberry Fields Forever." They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001.
