A Diva formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1990 with four vocalists: Simone, Dani, Michelle, and Marly. Their debut album included the song "Me Apaixonei," which became popular in Brazil. They also recorded "Quando É Amor." The group faced some criticism early on about their musical background, but kept performing.
They defended the work without changing it. Later albums like "Doce Paixão" and "Alma Feminina" continued their mix of Brazilian rhythms and pop. Dani and Simone both dealt with breast cancer during their time with the group.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
