Their name came from the simple fact that they brought lunch to rehearsals. They released their debut album in 1971, which included their version of 'Misty'.
That recording of 'Misty' became their defining moment. It was a sparse, atmospheric take on the jazz standard, built around Hardin's raw vocal delivery. The song found an audience, reaching the Top 10 in both the US and UK. Their sound didn't fit neatly into a genre, which made them a difficult sell commercially beyond that single hit.
They managed to release a second album in 1972 before breaking up. Their catalog is small, just those two records, but the particular mood of their 'Misty' has kept their name in circulation long after they stopped playing together.
