Archive material and source history

A Permanent Holiday formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2007, with brothers Tom and Sam Smith, Ross Rotherham, and Sam Swinton making up the original lineup. They put out their first album, 'Keep Me in the Dark,' in 2010. Songs like 'A Taste Of Honesty' from that record got some attention in indie circles.

Tom Smith's mental health issues caused the band to cancel shows and tours in 2012. They kept working, though, and released two more albums: 'Twice or Nothing' in 2012 and 'Sucks to Be You' in 2015. Other tracks people know include 'In the end' and 'Save Tonight.'

The group has been Tom Smith on vocals and guitar, Sam Smith on guitar and vocals, and Ross Rotherham.
